Destination Lunch

imageI work in a retail-rich part of town. There’s a mall across the street, and I share a parking lot with a drugstore, a grocery store, and three department stores.

If I’m going to avoid buying things, I pretty much have to steer clear of stores. That’s harder than you’d think around here.

I’d like to get out of the building for a little while on my lunch, so last week I did a little reconnaissance of the area and found some green space: tiny, oddly shaped and seemingly the by-product of a weird intersection.

It’s close. It’s quiet. It has a bench! And I have books to read.
